47. In magnetic materials, the relation between magnetic permeability (μ) and susceptibility (k) (in SI units) is

A) μ= 1/k                       B) μ=1-k                C) μ=1+k                  D) μ=1-2πk

 Solution:

The relation between B-field, H-field and magnetization ‘M’ is given by the below formula

B = μ0 (H+M) --------------(1)

Magnetization (M) = kH -----------------(2)

Substitute equation (2) in equation (1)

            B= μ0 (H+KH)  --------(3)

            B= μ0H (1+K)

            B=μ0H μ

           B= μ0μH

           Therefore,  Magnetic permeability(μ)= 1+k

           k- Susceptibility
