108. A rock unit has drifted northwards without undergoing any rotation since its formation. What would be the dip and declination of its NRM, if it is magnetized at 45 degrees in the southern hemisphere during a magnetic reversal?
A) 450,
00
B) -450 ,
1800
C) -tan-1(2)
, 00
D) tan-1(2)
, 1800
Solution:
The relation between
dip(inclination) and latitude is
tan i = 2 tan Φ
--------------(1)
latitude (Φ)
= 450
substitute
above value in eq (1)
tan i=
2 tan 450
tan i=
2 * 1 (tan 450=
1)
tan i
= 2
i=
tan-1(2)
inclination
or dip = tan-1(2)
And
declination changes 1800
Therefore,
inclination
and declination is : tan-1(2)
, 1800
How declination is change ?

No, question is about seismic refraction.please solve
DeleteAround 6 to 7 question was solved topic on seismic refraction method. For those questions please type seismic refraction on search button.
DeleteNo I saw those questions but question 112 is I think tough one so please solve
ReplyDeleteSorry I understood your question wrongly.
DeleteWe can solve this question using,
spread length = 5* h or 10*h formula.
(spread length is maximum distance between shot and Geophone (1800m))
h= depth
5h= spread length = 1800/5 m
10h= spread length = 1800/ 10 m
Just average these two we will get the depth.
I will post this solution as soon as possible.
Spread length= 5*h to 10*h
